Return to the bottom menu and scroll down until you find Settings. Click on it to proceed.
Step 4: Adjust Friend Request Settings
In the Settings menu, scroll down to the Audience and Visibility section. Click on How people can find and contact you.
At the top, find the option Who can send you friend requests. Click on it and select Friends of Friends. Don’t forget to click Save.
Step 5: Verify Changes
Go back to your profile and click on the three dots again to view it as others would. You should now see a Follow button instead of the Add Friend button.
Step 6: Remove the Follow Button (Optional)
If you want to remove the Follow button as well, return to the Settings area.
Click on the three dots, then go to Settings again. Scroll down to Audience and Visibility and select Followers and Public Content.
Here, find the option Who can follow me and change it from Public to Friends. Click Save.
Step 7: Final Verification
Go back to your profile one last time, click on the three dots, and select View As. You should now only have the option for people to send you messages, enhancing your privacy.
